Ashes Scattering at Sea in Barcelona & Sitges
An intimate and respectful farewell from Port Garraf, in the heart of the Garraf Natural Park.
A Service for Moments That Deserve the Best
Scattering the ashes of a loved one at sea is one of the most beautiful and meaningful farewells. The Mediterranean Sea, from Port Garraf, offers an environment of tranquility difficult to find in other ports of the Barcelona coast: without crowds, surrounded by the Garraf Natural Park, with clean waters and an open horizon that invites peace.
At Altair Nautical School, we manage this service with the utmost discretion and professionalism. We take care of everything: the permits with the Maritime Authority to sail to the assigned area (normally about 1.5 nautical miles, about 30 minutes of navigation).
How it works
- 1. Contact & Booking: Call us or write via WhatsApp. We are available 365 days a year.
- 2. Permit Management: We handle the authorization request with the Barcelona Maritime Authority.
- 3. Ceremony Day: The family arrives at Port Garraf (Sitges). We set sail on our boat.
- 4. Navigation: We sail for about 30 minutes to the authorized area.
Is it legal?
Yes, it is completely legal. In Spain, scattering ashes is regulated. We manage all the permits so the ceremony is held in authorized zones. Only biodegradable urns or direct scattering are allowed.
